Washington Internship Institute

Program Options

Full Semester or Summer Internships

  • You can earn a full semester's worth of credits from VWU during the fall and spring semesters:
    • 4-8 credits for the internship
    • 4 credits each for the Core Course and Internship Seminar
    • 1-4 credits for an optional independent study project
    • During the summer, Virginia Wesleyan students can earn 4 credits for the internship, and 4 credits each for the Core Course and Internship Seminar
  • You will pay VWU tuition and fees plus an additional program fee that covers the cost of the internship, housing, and additional experiences while in Washington, DC.
  • Students will be responsible for paying an application fee, a registration deposit, and a refundable housing deposit directly to the Washington Internship Institute.
  • For the summer term, consult with VWU’s Office of Financial Aid to determine if you have aid that may be applied towards summer course expenses.

Scholarships and Grants
