The Cyrenaican Arabs represent about a quarter of the population in Libya, and they live in the eastern portion of the country including the major cities of Benghazi and Derna. The name “Cyrenaican” is derived from the historical city of Cyrene from which this region has evolved through the centuries. There are very few workers in this region of the country.
Father, we pray for the doors to be opened to the Cyrenaican region of Libya for more workers to be able to go and make disciples among them. We also ask for more intercessors to be raised up who will pray for this region and the people living there.

Lord God, we thank you today for Adam, a Libyan man who is seeking to know the truth and committed to reading the whole Book over the next several months. We praise you for revealing yourself to Adam through your Word and speaking to his heart in this journey.

Our Lord, we cry out to you in behalf of the dozens and dozens of ethnic groups in and near Libya that no Christian has persistently engaged through the centuries. Please, God, let us in this generation bring these dear people into your Kingdom.

Many school-age children attending public schools in Libya finished taking their exams last week. After a long break for Ramadan, they went back last week for exams and now school is officially out for the summer. Many children living along the coastline will spend days at the beach with their families while most summer days will be spent playing outside in their neighborhood with friends.
Father, we thank you for the children living in Libya who represent the future of this country. Let them not be hindered from hearing the good news of salvation and let them grow into lovers of Jesus and your Word.

Jesus said, “If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority” (John 7:17).
Father, may Your Word be read and loved in Libya, as those who are genuinely seeking Your will behold grace and truth in its pages.

There is an estimated population of about 279,000 Berbers originally from neighboring country Algeria living in Libya. In their early history, Berbers were mostly Christians before Arab invasions led to “Arabization” forcing them to speak the Arabic language and follow the religion of Islam. Today, all of these Berber tribes are Muslim but there is a growing number of believers among them!
Lord, we praise you for the Berber Christians in Libya and ask for you to strengthen and encourage them today. Let your light shine through them and may more of these precious ones come to faith in Jesus! Raise up and send out more believers who feel a calling to reach these tribes with the Good News of salvation!

Lord, we ask that you would make all grace abound to believers in Libya today, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, they may abound in every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:8) May these good works be seen by believers’ family and friends and would they be drawn to Jesus through this testimony.

At Jesus’ birth there was a woman named Anna who was at least 84 years old who was waiting for God’s redemption (Luke 2:36-38).
Father, woo the hearts of elderly women and their families in Libya who are longing for Your salvation. Give them to Jesus.

Plans for elections being held in December 2018 are moving forward and many of the political entities are desiring unity and peace in their country. There are still groups though who are fighting against these changes using violence and terror to make their statements.
We pray for your kingdom to come and your will to be done in the political situation of Libya. Raise up the peacemakers and tear down the strongholds of violence and pride in the groups seeking power.

In order for church multiplication movements to progress, new believers must be easily and quickly welcomed into the Body of Christ.
Let us pray today against the threat of distrust and suspicion that can prevent God’s people from growing in number, maturity, and impact.

Tomorrow will mark the end of 30 days of fasting during Ramadan and then 3 days of celebrating will begin called the “Eid-al Fitr.” This is one of the most important holidays in the year for Muslims. It’s a celebratory time of visiting family and neighbors, exchanging well-wishes that your fasting was received by God, sharing sweets and children wearing new clothes.
Father, we pray today that there would be rejoicing in heaven over the souls of Libyans who choose to follow Jesus and call Him Lord. Let this Eid be a time when many Libyans turn away from Islam and embrace you as their Savior.

Muslims in Libya and around the world are praying and lifting up their voices today in hopes that God will hear them and forgive them of their sins.
Let us ask that today as they call to the Lord, the Lord would answer their cries and speak to their hearts giving them true revelation of who He is as their Father.

Thank you Jesus that you are the true bread of life! “For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” (John 6:33)
We pray for Libyans to receive a taste of the bread that satisfies their hunger and for them to turn from false religion to believe in the true God!
