Last week, around 2,000 internally displaced Tawerghans were evicted from an IDP camp by one of the militias in the capital leaving them homeless for the second time in seven years. The first time occurred when they were brutally forced out of their hometown after the revolution ended. There is no clear reason for the motives behind this eviction.
Father, you care for the needy and the brokenhearted. You see the people of Tawergha and all of the pain they have walked through. Let your Spirit draw near to them bringing healing to broken hearts and open up opportunities for them to hear the Good News of salvation!

Today is the most important holiday in Libya and across the Muslim world. It is the Eid al-Adha or “the feast of sacrifice.” In commemoration of Abraham offering his son in obedience to God, all Muslim families will sacrifice an animal (most often in Libya it’s a sheep). The meat is divided into three shares: one for friends/neighbors, one for the poor/needy and the other is kept for the family.
As believers, we know this story is one of many in the Old Testament that foreshadow the coming of Jesus as Messiah and the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Father, we pray today for true revelation to be poured out over Libyans to know you Jesus as the perfect, spotless Lamb whose blood covers every one of our sins.

May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. (Col 1:11-12).
Pray that believers might joyfully treasure their salvation & eternal hope no matter what their circumstances.

Around 10,000 people live in the beautiful town of Ghadames located in the northwestern part of Libya. The old city in Ghadames is one of the oldest, pre-Saharan settlements with its nickname being the “pearl of the desert.”
Thank you God that you are rich in love and kindness. We pray for the people of Ghadames to come to know the immeasurable riches of your kindness in Christ Jesus who loves them and gave himself for them. Let the eyes of their hearts be opened to receive this truth.

Social media can be a very effective tool of sharing the Gospel and exposing Libyans to the truth. Many Libyans have Facebook accounts and are active on social media.
Father, we ask that you would embolden Libyan believers enabling them to reach their families, friends, and communities with the Good News through social media. Give them wisdom as they share and draw the right people who are true seekers to look at their accounts.

“The word of truth, the gospel, which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing–as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth, just as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant. (Col 1:5-7)
Let’s praise the Lord that it is His Word that bears the fruit, and ask Him that His servants would be faithful to proclaim the grace of God in truth among Libyans in every corner of this country.

“Then Elisha prayed and said, LORD, please open his eyes that he may see. So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha” (2 Kings 6:17).
LORD, please open the eyes of Your young church in Libya.

The Sanusi Bedouins of Libya live in the eastern part of the country in the harsh desert environment. Traditionally, many of them had nomadic lifestyles herding sheep and goats or farming. Now, due to a need for better living conditions and money, some are accepting manual labor jobs to earn wages.
Father, we lift up the Sanusi Bedouin people group and ask that they would seek and find Jesus to be the living water they need. Let there be opportunities for them to hear the gospel and respond. Let there be a culture among them of sharing stories about Jesus that would lead to a disciple making movement among them.

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14) Praise you Jesus that you are full of both grace and truth and that you make your dwelling in the midst of Libyans!

There are an increasing number of young people in Libya who are becoming disillusioned with Islam, and they are looking for answers in other worldviews, alternative lifestyles, and worldly pleasures.
Pray that they would be set free by encountering the Gospel, rather than being taken “captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition [and] according to the elemental spirits of the world.” (Col 2:8)

Divorce is on the rise in Libya, especially among the younger generation. Many Libyans have never seen examples of Godly marriages. Pray for marriages among Christians to be a vibrant witness of God’s love, grace, mercy, forgiveness and forebearance.

“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die” (Galatians 2:20-21 NLT).
Father, let this Gospel transform Libyans. Let hearts embrace Your Son as beautiful and not blasphemous.

An estimated group of 206,000 Bedouins living in the southwestern Fezzan region of Libya on the edge of the Sahara desert are divided into two classes. One class lead a more nomadic lifestyle living in tents while the other class are farmers. Almost all of them are Muslim, and their lives are difficult in the harsh, desert environment.
Father God, we ask for the Fezzan Bedouins to come to know Jesus Christ as their refuge and source of peace. Let them abandon Islam and embrace Jesus as their Lord. We pray for a disciple making movement to emerge from this people group!
