Daily Prayers

Fezzan Bedouins

An estimated group of 206,000 Bedouins living in the southwestern Fezzan region  of Libya on the edge of the Sahara desert are divided into two classes. One class lead a more nomadic lifestyle living in tents while the other class are farmers. Almost all of them are Muslim, and  their lives are difficult in the harsh, desert environment.

Father God, we ask for the Fezzan Bedouins to come to know Jesus Christ as their refuge and source of peace. Let them abandon Islam and embrace Jesus as their Lord. We pray for a disciple making  movement to emerge from this people group!

Translation Progress

We thank you Father that the Word of God is readily available in Arabic, that parts of it have been translated into Libyan Arabic, and that parts are being translated into the language of the Amazigh people!

Holiday Travel

This month is an official school holiday for all students, from kindergarten through university.  Many Libyans travel during this time.  Pray that they encounter the Gospel during their travels.

Daily Prayers Verses

Bold Faith

Jesus said, “If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20).

Father, we pray today for bold, fearless faith in the lives of your saints in Libya.

Daily Prayers Verses

Fulfillment of Law

“Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law” (Galatians 2:16 NLT).

LORD, let this Good News free many Libyans to know the root of acceptance before You and to live out the fruit of obedience because of Your sacrificial love.

Daily Prayers

Tawerghans in Libya

in 2011, the 30,000 people living in Tawergha were brutally forced out of their homes in an act of revenge for their role in the support of Libya’s former dictator, Gadaffi. Many Tawerghans were falsely accused of crimes they didn’t commit and families were separated as this people group became scattered across Libya. They have suffered immensely and been dehumanized in many ways.

Father God, we cry out to you on behalf of the Tawerghan people asking for healing and restoration. Turn their mourning into dancing and give them joy for their sadness. Let them experience your kindness, Father.

Daily Prayers

New Seeker

We praise you Father for LB’s hunger and delight in your Word as he reads the book of John.  Thank you that he has a desire to keep reading and learning about Jesus!

Daily Prayers

Word of God

Libyans believe that Jesus is the Word of God, but the don’t accept his deity.  Pray that the words of John 1:1–In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God–will open their eyes to the truth.

Measles Outbreak

There is a current measles outbreak in all areas of the country, with a more than ten-fold increase in reported cases compared to last year.

Pray for protection from this disease and for wisdom for health officials.

Daily Prayers Verses

Eternal Perspective

“We look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are temporary, but the things that are unseen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18).

Lord God, we want to fix our eyes on eternal things. Help us, we pray.

Daily Prayers Verses

Compassionate Churches

“Their only suggestion was that we keep on helping the poor, which I have always been eager to do” (Galatians 2:10 NLT).

As the Gospel of Jesus Christ reaches and reconciles different sectors of Libyan society, pray that the various church groups would have an active compassion for the needy that surround them in the midst of a troubled economy.

Daily Prayers

Tunisians in Libya

There are an estimated 194,000 Tunisian Arabs living in Libya, most of them in the area around the capital. Many of these Tunisians work in the service industry in restaurants. There are a growing number of Tunisian believers living in Tunisia.

Lord, we ask for you to raise up evangelists and apostolic leaders from the Tunisian church who will be burdened for their Libyan neighbors. Give them your love and compassion for them. Continue to build your church among Tunisians and let the gospel spread into Libya through Tunisia.

Daily Prayers

New Songs

Thank you God for the new Libyan worship songs that are being written and recorded by believers! Let these songs be used to glorify and praise your awesome name across the country!

Transformed Hearts

Pray that these words would become true of many in Libya who are hostile to the Gospel today: “All they knew was that people were saying,  ‘The one who used to persecute us is now preaching the very faith he tried to destroy!’ And they praised God because of me” (Galatians 1:23-24 NLT).
