An estimated group of 206,000 Bedouins living in the southwestern Fezzan region of Libya on the edge of the Sahara desert are divided into two classes. One class lead a more nomadic lifestyle living in tents while the other class are farmers. Almost all of them are Muslim, and their lives are difficult in the harsh, desert environment.
Father God, we ask for the Fezzan Bedouins to come to know Jesus Christ as their refuge and source of peace. Let them abandon Islam and embrace Jesus as their Lord. We pray for a disciple making movement to emerge from this people group!

Jesus said, “If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20).
Father, we pray today for bold, fearless faith in the lives of your saints in Libya.

“Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law” (Galatians 2:16 NLT).
LORD, let this Good News free many Libyans to know the root of acceptance before You and to live out the fruit of obedience because of Your sacrificial love.

in 2011, the 30,000 people living in Tawergha were brutally forced out of their homes in an act of revenge for their role in the support of Libya’s former dictator, Gadaffi. Many Tawerghans were falsely accused of crimes they didn’t commit and families were separated as this people group became scattered across Libya. They have suffered immensely and been dehumanized in many ways.
Father God, we cry out to you on behalf of the Tawerghan people asking for healing and restoration. Turn their mourning into dancing and give them joy for their sadness. Let them experience your kindness, Father.

“We look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are temporary, but the things that are unseen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18).
Lord God, we want to fix our eyes on eternal things. Help us, we pray.

“Their only suggestion was that we keep on helping the poor, which I have always been eager to do” (Galatians 2:10 NLT).
As the Gospel of Jesus Christ reaches and reconciles different sectors of Libyan society, pray that the various church groups would have an active compassion for the needy that surround them in the midst of a troubled economy.

There are an estimated 194,000 Tunisian Arabs living in Libya, most of them in the area around the capital. Many of these Tunisians work in the service industry in restaurants. There are a growing number of Tunisian believers living in Tunisia.
Lord, we ask for you to raise up evangelists and apostolic leaders from the Tunisian church who will be burdened for their Libyan neighbors. Give them your love and compassion for them. Continue to build your church among Tunisians and let the gospel spread into Libya through Tunisia.

There are continued reports of migrants coming through Libya to attempt the dangerous journey across the sea to Europe and many dying among them either while crossing or on the overland trip.
Father, we pray for the migrants in Libya today and ask for them to encounter your love. Let them receive your mercy and grace in their suffering and need. Give them hope through your Son!

Pray that these words would become true of many in Libya who are hostile to the Gospel today: “All they knew was that people were saying, ‘The one who used to persecute us is now preaching the very faith he tried to destroy!’ And they praised God because of me” (Galatians 1:23-24 NLT).
