Give your church in Libya, Lord, a vision for a multiplying, reproducing church planting movement in their time. Fill their hearts with hope and let them become men and women of great faith who actively share their faith with everyone so that we may see a movement in their lifetime.

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (Psalm 46:10)
We marvel at your splendor and your power, O Lord. We know that you are a God who makes wars cease, and you are with your people through every battle they face. We exalt you today over Libya, and we rest assured knowing the victory belongs to you.

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Rom 10:17) Father, we lift up the people of the Nafusa Mountains and ask that they would have opportunities to hear your Word and believe through faith.

Father, we thank you for the believers and new seekers who have emerged in Libya in these last few months! Let their hunger for your Word continue to grow, and we thank you for giving them deeper understanding of what they read so that they can apply it to their lives.

Lord God, we lift up the activists and journalists who are fighting for freedom of religion in their country. Give these freedom fighters courage and protect them from the schemes of the enemy. As they fight for justice and equality, let them realize the true and living God who is perfectly just and perfectly merciful.

Father, today we humbly ask you for leaders to be raised up who will gather their family members, neighbors and friends together into their homes to read the Word and worship you as a community. We pray that this would become a normal occurrence across Libya and that believers would have the courage to gather together despite persecution or threats against them.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” (Col 3:16)
Thank you Lord for the body of Christ in Libya…let there be a culture among them of continually praising you and encouraging one another through songs. Let their mouths be continually filled with your praise!

Oh Lord, let your glory and your presence fill the streets of the town of Tobruk! Let the people of Tobruk behold the Son as the radiance of your glory and the exact imprint of your nature. Penetrate their hearts with the truth of your Word and break through their walls of religion giving them divine revelation. We ask for entire households in Tobruk to come to know you this week!

Every day, women in Libya are harassed and shamefully treated by men who have no respect for the dignity of women seeing them as inferior rather than persons created by God. Sadly, many young men are engaged in these harassing behaviors, but it is considered a societal norm.
Father, we pray for this to change in Libya for a new normal to be established where all men, young and old, are expected to honor women through their words and behavior. Let this change come about as men begin walking in freedom from bondage to sin and live in complete surrender to Christ.

Currently, Libyans are undergoing very long power outages lasting up to 10 hours at a time. The power outages are always worse during the coldest and hottest times of the year.
Lord God, we pray for Libyans during this time of greater hardship and frustration due to power cuts, to turn their faces towards you. When the lights go out in their homes, we pray for the light of your Son Jesus to illuminate in their hearts opening their spiritual eyes.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.” (Rom 1:16)
Yes, Lord, let your church in Libya be absolutely free and unashamed of the gospel that has changed their lives. We believe that your gospel carries the power to bring salvation to all Libyans who would call upon your name and believe in their hearts that Jesus is their Savior!

Father, let the residents of the northeastern town of Ajdabiya be given joy for their sadness and let their mourning be turned to dancing! We ask for this beautiful exchange to happen in their hearts as they see and encounter the beauty of the cross of Jesus Christ.

“Great is the LORD in Zion; he is exalted over all the nations. Let them praise your great and awesome name–he is holy.” (Psalm 99:2-3)
Take a moment in your own words to praise and exalt the name of Jesus. He is worthy of our praise and the praise of every nation on the earth!

Fighting between militias broke out again in the southern part of the capital last week. The ceasefire that had been brokered a few months ago was once again broken as militia groups became angry about a decision regarding control of the airport. We know that lasting peace cannot be achieved merely through political agreements but only through transformation of hearts by the Gospel. Jesus is the answer and the hope for Libya’s turmoil. We cry out today for your Spirit to breathe upon this land and ask for your kingdom come, your will be done in Libya!
