Forgiveness is very counter-cultural in Libya. If someone wrongs you, it is a normal response to cut that person off and not speak again.
Father, we pray for believers in Libya to love one another and to forgive one another when they hurt each other. We pray for the church in Libya to be a unified body who model the love of Christ to each other and choose forgiveness and love rather than bitterness and hatred.

Since last week, a ceasefire has been in effect after a period of very heavy fighting. A meeting also occurred between both sides as well as numerous other countries involved in Berlin this past Sunday in which all parties agreed to respect the arms embargo. The steady stream and supply of weapons from other countries to both parties has only exacerbated the conflict.
Father, we thank you for those who are working towards achieving peace and stability in the country. We pray that you would frustrate the plans of those who want to continue fighting and humble their hearts before you.

“Shall I bring to the point of birth and not cause to bring forth?” says the LORD; “shall I, who cause to bring forth, shut the womb?” says your God. (Isaiah 66:9)
Thank you LORD that what you have begun in Libya you will bring to completion. We declare there is a new birth and awakening happening in this country!

Even as the darkness seems to only increase in the country of Libya, we know that you Jesus are the light that shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:5) Let there be ones in Libya today who are walking in darkness to encounter your light!

This past month, several new people have made professions of faith in Christ! Thank you Father, we rejoice for your salvation is here and you are drawing Libyans to yourself revealing truth and love to them. We ask for each of the new believers that you strengthen and encourage their hearts. We pray for each one to pursue knowing you more fully and let them grow steadily in their knowledge of your Word.

Father, we lift up the children today who have been displaced from their homes because of the war. We ask for them to come to know you as a loving and kind Father, and we pray that their questions would lead them to discovering Christ.

This past week, a military school in the capital was hit by an air strike killing at least 30 people and wounding 33 others. The violence in the capital has continued to escalate and the thick cloud of mourning and heaviness remains over the city. The only hope and solution for this ongoing conflict is the transforming power of the Gospel.
We pray today for Libyans in the capital to no longer be numb to the violence happening around them but for an awakening in their hearts and for the message of the Gospel to pierce their hearts. Let the spirit of mourning and despair be exchanged for a spirit of joy and gladness as Libyans encounter the truth of the Gospel!

In John 11:25, Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.”
Jesus, we are asking today for Libyans to know you as the resurrection and the life!

Father, thank you for the songs that are being written and sung by your church in Libya…let songs of adoration and praise for Jesus be poured out as an offering of worship by your precious saints in Libya. We ask that you would use worship in their heart language to draw the lost to salvation!

As we enter into this new decade, we ask that this would be the beginning of a new era in the history of Libya. Father, let this year 2020 be a turning point in the history of this country and let it be marked by a movement of people rejecting Islam and turning to Jesus choosing to obey and follow Him no matter the cost. We pray for many this year to find and obtain the treasure of your kingdom, Lord!
