Today, we pray for a shaking and awakening in the lives and hearts of religious leaders in Libya. Come to these men in dreams and visions, Jesus, and let there be a “Paul” among them who is completely transformed and becomes an apostolic leader of your church.
A family of local believers have a father who is seriously ill and not yet believed. They are believing for an opportunity to share the truth with him and for him to see the light of Christ in this critical time.
Father, we lift up this man and intercede for his salvation! We pray he would turn fully and surrender to you. Let this illness lead to your Name being glorified in this family and in all of their community.
“But when Jesus heard it he said, ‘This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.'” (John 11:4)
We thank you Father God that you are able to use pain, sickness and even death to bring you and your Son glory. We pray now for those who are sick in Libya to encounter your presence and experience your glory surrounding them. Thank you Jesus that you conquered death, and we pray for these ones to know you as the Resurrection and Life!
“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died , and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” (Colossians 3:2-3) Help us Father and our brothers and sisters in Libya as well set our minds on things that are above remembering that we belong to you. Our lives are not our own but we are redeemed people. Let us keep our thoughts and our minds centered upon your Word.
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor…” (Isaiah 61:1a)
Lord God, we bring before you those in Libya who are poor both physically and spiritually and ask for them to receive the good news of salvation through Jesus! Thank you for your love and compassion for the poor. Give us your heart for them and let us not hold back from proclaiming the hope of the gospel to them!
Several days ago, the head of the Presidential Council, Serraj, announced an immediate ceasefire in the country and called for a demilitarization of the cities of Jufra and Sirte where conflict is brewing. Many such ceasefires have been called for in the past but not met with success.
Lord God, we cry out on behalf of the people of Libya and ask for mercy. Let there be a complete end to this conflict and we pray for both sides of the west and the east to lay down their weapons and their pride for the sake of restoring peace to this country.
