With us in the Fire

God, thank you that when you ask us to go through trials, you promise to be with us. As you were with Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednego in the flames, you are with us in every situation. Let believers in Libya feel your tangible Presence today!

Forgiveness is very counter-cultural in Libya. If someone wrongs you, it is a normal response to cut that person off and not speak again.

Father, we pray for believers in Libya to love one another and to forgive one another when they hurt each other. We pray for the church in Libya to be a unified body who model the love of Christ to each other and choose forgiveness and love rather than bitterness and hatred.

Ceasefire in Capital

Since last week, a ceasefire has been in effect after a period of very heavy fighting. A meeting also occurred between both sides as well as numerous other countries involved in Berlin this past Sunday in which all parties agreed to respect the arms embargo. The steady stream and supply of weapons from other countries to both parties has only exacerbated the conflict.

Father, we thank you for those who are working towards achieving peace and stability in the country. We pray that you would frustrate the plans of those who want to continue fighting and humble their hearts before you.

Perseverance in Intercession

Every church planting movement has been preceded by extraordinary prayer. God, we pray today that you would give us perseverance as we intercede for Libya. We remember that even though we sleep, you are awake night and day and continue to work. Give us the impudence of the man and woman in Jesus’s stories about intercessors. Give us your heart and your compassion for these people!

We so appreciate your prayers, and we know that God is raising up an army of intercessors for His glory in Libya. If you feel led, would you share this post with a friend today and invite them to receive these daily?

Daily Prayers Uncategorized Verses

Time for Birth

“Shall I bring to the point of birth and not cause to bring forth?” says the LORD; “shall I, who cause to bring forth, shut the womb?” says your God. (Isaiah 66:9)

Thank you LORD that what you have begun in Libya you will bring to completion. We declare there is a new birth and awakening happening in this country!

The Unreached Desert

90% of Libya is desert. God, we cry out for laborers in the Libyan desert – that those few who’ve accepted you would be courageous and tell their stories, and that you would send believers from other regions into the desert to witness.

More and More Believers

God, we thank you for an acceleration and increase in the harvest in Libya, that more and more are finding salvation! We praise and glorify you for this miraculous work! May many more ears hear of you and tongues confess you as Lord.

Light Overcomes

Even as the darkness seems to only increase in the country of Libya, we know that you Jesus are the light that shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:5)  Let there be ones in Libya today who are walking in darkness to encounter your light!

New Believers

This past month, several new people have made professions of faith in Christ! Thank you Father, we rejoice for your salvation is here and you are drawing Libyans to yourself revealing truth and love to them. We ask for each of the new believers that you strengthen and encourage their hearts. We pray for each one to pursue knowing you more fully and let them grow steadily in their knowledge of your Word.

Resilience and Rejoicing

God, teach believers in Libya to rejoice in all circumstances, to abound in hope and love, and to face persecution with joy and steadfastness. We pray for great grace for joy, that your church may advance despite every attempt of the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy. We pray for a victorious church.

Daily Prayers

Light in Benghazi

Benghazi is the biggest city in eastern Libya and remains an important center of influence for the whole country. It also has a very active police and military presence, which can make life difficult for Jesus followers.

God, we pray believers in Benghazi would be like lights shining in darkness, that those around them would see their good works and glorify God. Would they serve the poor and heal the sick, and would supernatural love flow out of them. Bless them, O God, and may they feel your strengthening, comforting presence today.

Daily Prayers

Displaced Children

Father, we lift up the children today who have been displaced from their homes because of the war. We ask for them to come to know you as a loving and kind Father, and we pray that their questions would lead them to discovering Christ.

Mourning and Heaviness

This past week, a military school in the capital was hit by an air strike killing at least 30 people and wounding 33 others. The violence in the capital has continued to escalate and the thick cloud of mourning and heaviness remains over the city. The only hope and solution for this ongoing conflict is the transforming power of the Gospel.

We pray today for Libyans in the capital to no longer be numb to the violence happening around them but for an awakening in their hearts and for the message of the Gospel to pierce their hearts. Let the spirit of mourning and despair be exchanged for a spirit of joy and gladness as Libyans encounter the truth of the Gospel!

Daily Prayers Verses

Resurrection and Life

In John 11:25, Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.”

Jesus, we are asking today for Libyans to know you as the resurrection and the life!

Daily Prayers

Presence Promised

God, thank you so much for promising to be with us wherever we go. You said you’d be with us always, that you would never leave or forsake us. Thank you for this promise and so many others that we can hold onto when times are tough!

Daily Prayers

Worship in Heart Language

Father, thank you for the songs that are being written and sung by your church in Libya…let songs of adoration and praise for Jesus be poured out as an offering of worship by your precious saints in Libya. We ask that you would use worship in their heart language to draw the lost to salvation!

New Beginnings for a New Year

As we enter into this new decade, we ask that this would be the beginning of a new era in the history of Libya. Father, let this year 2020 be a turning point in the history of this country and let it be marked by a movement of people rejecting Islam and turning to Jesus choosing to obey and follow Him no matter the cost. We pray for many this year to find and obtain the treasure of your kingdom, Lord!
