Light Overcomes

Even as the darkness seems to only increase in the country of Libya, we know that you Jesus are the light that shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:5)  Let there be ones in Libya today who are walking in darkness to encounter your light!

New Believers

This past month, several new people have made professions of faith in Christ! Thank you Father, we rejoice for your salvation is here and you are drawing Libyans to yourself revealing truth and love to them. We ask for each of the new believers that you strengthen and encourage their hearts. We pray for each one to pursue knowing you more fully and let them grow steadily in their knowledge of your Word.

Resilience and Rejoicing

God, teach believers in Libya to rejoice in all circumstances, to abound in hope and love, and to face persecution with joy and steadfastness. We pray for great grace for joy, that your church may advance despite every attempt of the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy. We pray for a victorious church.

Daily Prayers

Light in Benghazi

Benghazi is the biggest city in eastern Libya and remains an important center of influence for the whole country. It also has a very active police and military presence, which can make life difficult for Jesus followers.

God, we pray believers in Benghazi would be like lights shining in darkness, that those around them would see their good works and glorify God. Would they serve the poor and heal the sick, and would supernatural love flow out of them. Bless them, O God, and may they feel your strengthening, comforting presence today.

Daily Prayers

Displaced Children

Father, we lift up the children today who have been displaced from their homes because of the war. We ask for them to come to know you as a loving and kind Father, and we pray that their questions would lead them to discovering Christ.

What does God lead you to pray as you look at this photo of Libyans mourning the deaths of some high school students?

Mourning and Heaviness

This past week, a military school in the capital was hit by an air strike killing at least 30 people and wounding 33 others. The violence in the capital has continued to escalate and the thick cloud of mourning and heaviness remains over the city. The only hope and solution for this ongoing conflict is the transforming power of the Gospel.

We pray today for Libyans in the capital to no longer be numb to the violence happening around them but for an awakening in their hearts and for the message of the Gospel to pierce their hearts. Let the spirit of mourning and despair be exchanged for a spirit of joy and gladness as Libyans encounter the truth of the Gospel!

Daily Prayers Verses

Resurrection and Life

In John 11:25, Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.”

Jesus, we are asking today for Libyans to know you as the resurrection and the life!

Daily Prayers

Presence Promised

God, thank you so much for promising to be with us wherever we go. You said you’d be with us always, that you would never leave or forsake us. Thank you for this promise and so many others that we can hold onto when times are tough!

Daily Prayers

Worship in Heart Language

Father, thank you for the songs that are being written and sung by your church in Libya…let songs of adoration and praise for Jesus be poured out as an offering of worship by your precious saints in Libya. We ask that you would use worship in their heart language to draw the lost to salvation!

Daily Prayers

New Beginnings for a New Year

As we enter into this new decade, we ask that this would be the beginning of a new era in the history of Libya. Father, let this year 2020 be a turning point in the history of this country and let it be marked by a movement of people rejecting Islam and turning to Jesus choosing to obey and follow Him no matter the cost. We pray for many this year to find and obtain the treasure of your kingdom, Lord!

Daily Prayers Verses

End Vision

“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, ‘ Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!'” (Revelation 7:9-10)

Thank you Heavenly Father for your desire for every nation and every tribe to be represented before your throne on that glorious day. We pray today for every people group in Libya to bow before the Lamb acknowledging Jesus as their Lord and Savior!

Daily Prayers regions

City of Misrata

Misrata, the third largest populated city in Libya, is a very strategically located place in the middle of the country linking the east and west. It is a major port city with about 60% of imports and exports in the country going through it.

Lord Jesus, we ask for a great outpouring of your Spirit over the city of Misrata. Let its people who carry such a strong identity as being Misuratans shift to carrying an identity as passionate, obedient followers of Jesus!

Daily Prayers

New Sister

Thank you Father for Lynn* who just recently decided to believe and follow Jesus! She is sister to another believer, and she is so hungry for the Word of God reading every opportunity she can!

Guard the Deposit

As Paul admonished Timothy to guard the good deposit entrusted to him through the Holy Spirit which dwells within us (2 Timothy 1:14), we ask for your church in Libya to remember Jesus and the Gospel they have received! Empower each believer by your Spirit and we pray that you would remind them of the faith, love and hope they have in Christ Jesus.

A Normal Wednesday

While today is a day full of joy and celebration for you, today is a normal Wednesday in Libya and the majority of Libyans are not even aware that today is Christmas. Take a moment now to pray for the thousands of lost sheep in Libya to be found. Jesus came to seek and to save the lost! He came for every people group and tribe including all those in Libya.

We ask that this normal Wednesday in the lives of many Libyans to be turned into an extraordinary day of being found by the One who loves them and laid down his life for them.
